In October 2017, Belize confirmed its participation in the Comprehensive Regional Protection and Solutions Framework (or MIRPS as it is called by its Spanish acronym), a regional contribution to the Global Compact on Refugees.

At the national level, Belize's action plan for the MIRPS is guided and supervised by the National Technical Team, made up of the Government, OAS, UNHCR, and is coordinated by the Department of Refugees, which also functions as the MIRPS focal point of the government.
